It memorises the last count and goes into sleep mode when not in use, ready to start again when you're ready, simply press the big button to wake up. You can reset to zero at any time by pressing the little button. The jell strap is comfortable and adjustable, fitting from the tiniest finger to a belt loop or bag/backpack strap.
