The Bayeaux Tapestry Commision.

The Bayeaux Tapestry Commision.

I am delighted to have received a new commission from The British Museum for some kits for The Bayeaux Tapestry Exhibition this year.

I am designing 3 kits. The tapestry has a wealth of mythical creatures for me to choose from, some quite comical and others you definitely wouldn’t want to meet on a dark night, or at any time actually! So far I have a Norman Knight and a serpent dragon finished and the knight’s steed is nearly done.

I will keep updating my progress…..Hoping you’re keeping warm and dry x

14th February.   A little update!....  All 3 characters will be available in kit form from the British Museum Bayeaux Tapestry Exhibition running from September this year. The little Norman Knight will have the addition of a Kite Shield.

This will be the first time the Tapestry has been in the UK in 1000 years. It has to be removed from its current display due to renovations in the Bayeaux Museum. The British Museum will be loaning The Sutton Hoo Hoard in return. If you would like to read about how the tapestry is to be prepared, handled and transported do visit bayeauxmuseum.com
